Observation day 2

 It was a tuesday. First period I have an extra class in 9B. So that i taught third equation of motion, and solved out many problems based on it. Then, gave a group activity based on it. Students nicely done the activity. Very interactive session. 

In the fourth hour i have optional observation in 8D. I taught the topic Compounds and chemical formula. It was ICT oriented and activity based class. And i explained the structure of molecule using 3D model of molecules. Then gave activity Boat Race of pick and Paste. They have nicely done the activity. 

Finally, conducted a quiz based on the topic, students competed in groups and rewarded them the Stars. Neena ma'am gave me very valuable and remarkable feedbacks. She commented on my ICT skills. Inspiring feedback for me as a budding teacher. 

 

Achievement Test

 It was a Monday, so that i have no period.

But i planned to conduct Achievement Test in 8D in their Library Period. In the fourth period, i conducted the test , of First chapter 'Basic Constituents of matter ' for 25 marks and one hour duration. The students were nicely done the answers. 

   

I got a free period in 8A in the second hour so that I engaged them in different activities. 

  Kunjukaikalil kozhikunju

The program named 'Kunjukaikalil kozhikunju ' was organised in the school morning in association with govt of Kerala. The program was inaugurated by Civil Supplies minister Anil and several other dignitaries were participated in the session. It was the program of distributing 5chicks to students of class 8 and 9 to develop the earning ability and self independence of students. 

   

Afternoon we have rearranged the science lab, and demolished the cosmic installation, and removed the models and charts .

It was the day of exhibition . July 21 International Moon day celebration. I reached school 8.30 am for the last lap of arrangements. We have arranged Special assessbly, and Documentary presentation and Cosmic installation in the science lab. Also poster display. 

Documentary Presentation

I have prepared a short documentary on moon day including the Launch of Chandrayan 3, Life stories of Neil Armstrong and Kalpana Chawla for inspiring students. 

Finding A great Success.....

Our efforts made success finally. The cosmic installation was a big success. students from all the class participated and attended the Exhibition and i detailed the Cosmic installation and about rocket models. 

Teachers, staffs appreciated our works and we took photos and videos of the session. It was a great experience for me as a budding teacher. I gained so much memorable moments in executing, planning and final moments of the exhibition. It was a great accelerator......

Moon Day Exhibition - Planning , Initial Preparations

 

 Moon Day Exhibition

July 21 International Moon Day.So we decided to conduct an exhibition. So we physical science student teachers and Natural science trainees from St. Thomas planned to conduct exhibition on the moon day. Our mentor teachers gave an initial idea of the session. 

So I scheduled the program after a long discussion. We planned to conduct a cosmic installation and poster and rocket model display . And planned to conduct an special assessbly on that day. 

For the exhibition I gave directions to students about the items and models that they have to bring. And distributed the charts and balls to build Planets. And assigned each duty to students. 

Purchase of materials and collecting items from the students was a great experience for me. We bought balls from shop to build Planets, sun and moon. And collected and prepared posters and rocket model. 

Cosmic installation Arrangements

We set up a miniature version of Cosmos in the science lab after a great effort. We decorated the dark room with shining lights and stars. And from the walls hanged planets and sun. 

Poster Preparation

I made a poster for the program using Canva. It contains all the events . And we named as "Celestia". 

Balancing of chemical equations

Balancing of chemical equations in 8D

In 8D, I started the Balancing of the Chemical equations. First I explained the process through a problem. Then demonstrated the steps in balancing of chemical equations using a simple example of NH3. I used phet simulation to clarify the topic to students ( https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulations/balancing-chemical-equations).

And then provided activity cards for students, they done it as a group activity. 

Hectic and Enjoying Friday

       

 It was the Friday. End of a busy week. The first two periods I have classes in 8D and 9C. In 8D. I taught the balancing of chemical equations and chemical reactions. Since it was a new topic , students were curious to solve the equations and have to clarify so much doubts. But it was an interesting session. 

In 9C, i taught Velocity time graph and displacement from  a velocity time graph.i have given a lot of activities to students based on the problem. They have nicely done the activity on groups. 

It was the day , that I asked the 9B students to submit the Physics notebooks. Most of them have submitted the notebooks and I have corrected them all. 

In the afternoon we have a meeting for the moon day celebration. A short meeting for planning and organizing programmes . I gave direction to students about the programs. 

In the afternoon, i bought charts and foam sheets for chart and star preparation as per the direction of concern teacher. And gave direction to each class about the programs and distributed the charts in each class. 

Last period i got a period in 8D, it was their ECA period so that engaged them in presenting their talents, they sang well. Then they wrote feedback about me, it was a nice session, last we took photos with the students.  A fun and memorable session . 

Very valuable feedbacks and pouring more energy to me as a budding teacher. 

 

Bursting Thursday

                   

 It was a Thursday. Reached school 9am.I have two periods in 9B and 9C. In 9B i taught calculation of displacement from a velocity time graph and formulation of first and  second equation of motion from the graph. For the displacement calculation, i provided activity and they have nicely done the activity. 

In 9C, i taught Position time graph using many examples,and they were very nicely and curiously done the activities. It was an organized session.

In afternoon, I got a free period in 7B. I engaged them in doing many activities and games. The little one were very curious and energetic in participating games. 

In the evening we have discussion on the planning of Chandradhinam. We planned the activities and session to be conducted on July 21.

In the evening, I have corrected the graph books of  9B students. And checked their homeworks .
