Last day of Teaching Practice Phase 2

Heart breaking send off.......

   

It was the final day of Teaching Practice Phase 2. With a weeping heart reached the school at 9 am. Records and attendance sheet and other necessary documents were signed from the school. And feedback from respective teachers were collected. 

First period i visited the class 9C, and cherished a few moments with students. Took photos with students, sharing their feedbacks and singing songs for me .Enjoyable moments..... 

Second period i visited my 8 D class and I spend a lot of time with them by cherishing moments and they performed for me. Eye filling feedbacks from my little ones. 

Then, I spent time with 9B students and they gifted me a lot of memorable moments. Their feedbacks filled my heart and soul. 

In the afternoon, we distributed the final mid day meal in the school. It was another feeling. 

   

In the evening we have a send off session organised by school staff council. Head teacher Kala teacher and other teachers appreciated our works in the school and gave us a warm send-off. We shared our experiences in the session. It was a great , memorable session. 

The second teaching practice gave me a lot of memorable moments, experiences and lessons. The journey was very interesting and memorable. The love of young ones was a great inspiration for me... The support of teachers in the school was immense and appreciated. 

The life has to move on ........

Role Play Model

 

   

I took the roleplay model on" Elements" in 8 D class. First , I gave a brief introduction to the students about what we are going to study and how a role play is. The i assigned characters to students. Then gave them their dialogues for presentation. Then conducted a small demo. Students were nicely presented their roles. It was a special learning.

Hiroshima, Nagasaki day Rally Special assessbly

 It was the Hiroshima Nagasaki day.School SPC unit, JRC unit, and Social science club organised a special rally from the school to Kanyakulangara junction. We assisted the students throughout the rally. Then a special assessbly organised in the morning. Slogans and songs on war was presented by the children. A small skit were presented by the children. And autobiography of Anne Frank was presented. Overall it was a special occasion. Finally we took pledge on "No war and Need Peace"

 

Unit Test Chemistry 8D

 Since ,it was a tuesday I have fifth period in 8 D, i conducted a unit test on chapter 2 Chemistry "Basic Constituents of matter". I conducted the test for 15 marks. Including the questions, multiple choice questions, true or false,match the following questions and complete the table questions. There are a total of 32 students were attended the exam.

The biggest challenge any teacher faces is capturing the students’ attention, and putting across ideas in such a way that it stays with them long after they have left the classroom. For this to happen, classroom experience should be redefined and innovative ideas that make teaching learning methods more effective should be implemented. The use of innovative methods in educational institutions has the potential not only to improve education, but also to empower people, strengthen governance and galvanize the effort to achieve the human development goal for the country.

Comic Book - Batman in the Universe Of Chemistry 

As part of BEd  fourth semester BEd curriculum, I have presented an innovative work on the topic' Basic Constituents of the matter' for teaching class 8 Chemistry. Comics are very interesting to students and if the concepts are presented in the form of their favourite characters in the comic it will be very interesting to inculcate the concepts in students. 

I named the comic book as' Batman in the world Of Chemistry. The main aim of the work is that , they easily understand the matter, atoms, elements and their structure and to explore and visualise the" Heart of chemistry". Students were very curious in reading the book and then doing the activity. 

Then after reading the book, students are provided with the" game of elements". It's a working match the following activity based on elements and their symbols. 

Diagnostic Test, busy schedule

8D Second period 

It was a Friday. I have two classes in 9 C and 8 D. In 8D i continued the topic Reactions of sodium with water using animated video. Students were very curious and enthusiastic in knowing the reaction between the sodium and water. And using equations i explained the chemistry behind their reactions. And finally gave activity cards to students to fill it. Very interactive and interesting class. 

Diagnostic Test

It was the day scheduled for class 8D students to conduct Diagnostic test on the chapter Properties of matter.  Initially I have provided the instructions for them. I conducted diagnostic Test consists of 20 questions including true or false, MCQ, fill in the blanks questions, and finally match the following questions also. Students were very nicely attended the diagnostic test. 

Inauguration of Gandhidharshan club

It was the day of inauguration of Gandhidharshan club. The PTA members, Headteachers and teachers and students were presented in the session. 

Eye Test camp

It was the eye test camp for students organised by school health club.we supported the teachers in conducting and organising the session.

SPC flash Mob, Fun session with students of 9B

 It was a Wednesday, I have one period in 9 B so that I solved out problem based on Three equation of motion and revised the second chapter. 

In the afternoon the SPC unit of school conducted a Flash Mob on SPC day. It was very interesting. We supported them in arranging the students and taking photos and videos of the program. 

 

I got a free period in 9 B, so that i engaged them in short interactive games and activities. They were very enthusiastic and active in participating the games. Very interesting and fun session it was.

  

A fruitful day.......

Creative Exhibition Session 2, Free period engaging

 It was a tuesday, reached school 9 am. First period i got a substitution in 8 C. So that i conducted a quiz in the class by dividing students into 2 groups. Science, sports, gk were included in the quiz. Finally team A won the quiz. 

Third period i got a free period in 8 D. So that i conducted the creative Exhibition of students works phase 2 . Students from each group exhibited t

heir creative works. Puzzles, games on elements, albums on elements, story of elements, charts were there. It was a great experience.....highly energetic students.....

   

In the fifth period, I have class in 8 D, so that I began the new chapter Chemical Changes with an activity and developed the lesson using simulation and attractive slides. And finally conducted a quiz on physical and chemical changes. An interactive class. 

Sixth period, I got a chance to teach Chemistry in 8 D. And I took the topic "Atoms and molecules" through simulation and explained the difference between the two. And finally gave an activity based on the topic.

Creative Exhibition on Basic Constituents of matter

In the afternoon i conducted an exhibition of creative works of students based on the chapter 'Basic Constituents of matter '. And I was asked the students to do any items , like charts and models from the chapter creatively and it was a group activity. Students done it nicely and their dedication and creativity wondered me. They displayed charts on elements, stories of elements, short interactive games , puzzles, bottle arts on compounds, etc.

Inauguration of GOTEC , Farewell Ceremony of St.Thomas Trainees

 It was a Thursday, so that i have second and third period in 9B and 9C. 

Inauguration of GOTEC

G G.H.S.S Kanyakulangara and District Panchayat TVM jointly coordinated a new initiative called GOTEC for high school Students to improve and nurture English communication skills. The program was inaugurated by Smt.SheelaKumari , District Panchayat President. And the chief aurator was Vijayakumaran Nair (English Expert). It was a nice session and really informative and appreciated session. 

Second period 9B

I conducted a revision test in 9B on the topic Forces in fluid for 15 minutes and used for doubts clearance. Then I gave group activities for students to solve the problems based on the equations of motion. 

Farewell to St Thomas Trainees

It was the final day of St.Thomas trainees in the school. We conducted a small farewell ceremony to them and we took so many photos and videos with them. With a weeping heart we leaved them and wishing a good carrier to all. 

   

Kargill Day Special assessbly

 It was the Kargill Day the Vijay Divas. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26 July every year in honour of the Kargil War's fighters.our school organised a special assessbly in the morning. And students of 6 B conducted the assembly and they spoke on the importance of the day and conducted a quiz on Kargil day. It was a proud moment. And students published their magazines in the assembly. 

 

Sixth period I have class in 9 B, so that i took the equations of motion using simulation and activities. The class was very organised. 

Open Mic

 

In the evening we have a session called 'Open Mic 'organised by Theosa and IQAC . The session was handled by Dr. Esther Gladis ma'am, former principal of our college. It was a session of sharing her experiences and memorable moments with us and there was a nice interaction with teachers and former students. An excellent talk....  an excellent and inspiring teacher as a role model for us. 

Observation day 2

 It was a tuesday. First period I have an extra class in 9B. So that i taught third equation of motion, and solved out many problems based on it. Then, gave a group activity based on it. Students nicely done the activity. Very interactive session. 

In the fourth hour i have optional observation in 8D. I taught the topic Compounds and chemical formula. It was ICT oriented and activity based class. And i explained the structure of molecule using 3D model of molecules. Then gave activity Boat Race of pick and Paste. They have nicely done the activity. 

Finally, conducted a quiz based on the topic, students competed in groups and rewarded them the Stars. Neena ma'am gave me very valuable and remarkable feedbacks. She commented on my ICT skills. Inspiring feedback for me as a budding teacher.
